I also love that you can download just the packages you need for your docs, and don’t have to take up a ton of space on your device with unneeded packaging. This app has made it possible for me to ditch my heavy laptop for work and use my iPad exclusively, which I LOVE! Super easy environment to type in and while the shortcuts they’ve integrated do take some time to get used to, once you do they are truly a serious time saver.

Otherwise the interface is a joy to work on, and the live pdf generation makes it so easy to see what you’re doing.
#Texpad connect update
I look forward to an update with this in mind!! While Dropbox is great and what I’ve been using, so many of my collaborators are on google that it’s frustrating to have to use 3rd party apps to sync everything appropriately. The only thing its lacking is a google drive integration. This is an awesome app for using LaTeX - easily the best I’ve found and trust me when I say I’ve tried them all. Zimmermancharlotte9's Review of Texpad Reviewed on 12/15/18 1:10 PM Sad!ĭrive integration would make 5 stars! star star star star star_border This is a potentially great app, but apparently the author is not maintaining it or improving it. At other times, when I try to scroll down to the end of a file it will simply return to the beginning of the file without scrolling down. Sometimes I can't see the beginning of the file. (Added later) Unfortunately, it is very erratic in behavior when editing a previously written file. There are a lot of very nice features in this app, and I hope the developer will continue to develop and support it. There is a fairly cursory tutorial on the web site, but it doesn't explain things in much detail.
#Texpad connect how to
As of now, I have to experiment to determine how to do things like import graphics. If the developer of Texpad would write a small tutorial (perhaps pdf) on how to use his app, it would be a tremendous asset. Therefore, I have switched to Texpad, and I am finding that it has many more nice features than does Texwiter. However, the latest update is a radical failure, and the developer does not react well to suggestions. The developer was very responsive to suggestions. I have used Texwriter since it was introduced, and it was a fine app. nice featueres therefore, I have upgraded my ratinbg to five stars. In spite of the nonresponsiveness of the developer, I have really worked to learn how to use this app, and it has quite a few. Since I explained my problem, I have received no response. I contacted the developer, but got only a light nonsequituur in response. For example, I have not yet figured out how to import graphics. It seems to be a nice implementation of LaTeX, but there is no tutorial on how to use it. It seems the Dropbox issue is out of their hands. UPDATE: I got a reply from the developer.
#Texpad connect full
If the app had full Dropbox integration, I would definitely give it 5 stars. The recent update made it possible to link folders in iCloud, but not Dropbox. I don’t want to have to move them all into the app folder - also because the contain many other documents (graphics, excel files etc.). I have hundreds of projects that include LaTeX. You can only access one specific app folder. On an 9.7” iPad the display is a little too small to take full advantage of it, but on the 12.9” and 11” Pro this should be really great.īUT, as many reviewers has remarked, the Dropbox integration is poor (and I did not realize this before buying). This makes writing LaTeX much more intuitive and interactive. As you write an equation (and other LaTeX) you can see it typeset in real time in the pdf file. This app makes writing LaTeX on iPad a breeze. PalmIPhoneConvert's Review of Texpad Reviewed on 8/31/19 2:12 PM Great way to write LaTeX, but poor Dropbox integration star star star star star
